TCU Judiciary (TCUJ) (1 Seat)

MAya Jordan

Education justice and equity matter in our community. My name is Maya, and I’m a junior dedicated to this pursuit. In practice, I have made strides serving as Secretary of the Black Student Union and a legislative intern in the House of Representatives, where I got to collaborate with diverse peoples, draft bills addressing healthcare barriers, and play a role in pursuing equity in a high-impact way. Opportunities where students have the freedom to explore their interests together freely are vital to educational equity. I would be thrilled to contribute to the enrichment and diversification of campus culture by partaking in the recognition of clubs. Having a seat at the table and ensuring diverse voices are a part of the decision-making process are also vital to effectuating education equity. I would translate my enthusiasm for this pursuit as a key insight when discharging Judiciary duties and apply my skills so the board could continue to service the student body fairly and productively. Overall, I believe I would serve as a passionate member of the Judiciary, which is essential in facilitating a more connected, diverse, robust Tufts community.

Matthew Blumenthal

My name is Matthew Blumenthal and I’m running for TCU Judiciary. As a responsible, accountable, and friendly person with lots of leadership experience, I would be a great addition to the Judiciary. At Tufts, I am involved with Survivor Tufts, Tamid Group, Tufts Historical Review, TBH (tech, business, & healthcare), and Intramural Pickleball. All of these clubs represent a wide range of fields, and because I work so closely with all of them, I truly know the ins and outs of student organizations. This will help me in the club creation, recognition, constitution, and funding processes — the main duties of the Judiciary. Outside of Tufts, I work as a camp counselor every summer, and in this role, I oversee conflict resolution between campers, collaborate with my co-counselors, and effectively communicate with campers’ parents. I also do over 300 hours of community service every year and know I will bring the same amount of dedication to Tufts TCU. Thank you in advance for your consideration and I hope I can count on your vote!
