Africana Community Senator (1 Seat)
Laquasha Belle
The choice is clear, LB is here! Proven experience, victorious results. Tufts has a vibrant multi-faith community, and students engage with these spaces in so many meaningful ways. Having worked as an Interfaith Ambassador for three years, I am so excited to help shape this brand-new RPSO(Religious and Philosophical Student Organizations) community seat. As your senator, my focus will be to:
1. Increase awareness of the diverse multi-faith calendar and distinct community needs.
2. Streamline accommodations, making them universally understood, respected, and easy to access while bridging the gap between policy and student experience.
3. Welcome everyone, ensuring all students, regardless of religious affiliation, agnosticism, or atheism, know that these spaces and resources are open to you.
4. Establish a feedback form, where you can share concerns, joys, or thoughts regarding spiritual and philosophical life on campus, whether you are actively involved or not. You bring the vision; I’ll use my experience to turn it into real action in the Senate. A space for all voices!
Aditya Anand
Hi, I’m Aditya! I’m pushing to connect Tufts’ RPSO communities with churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, mandirs, studios, and similar spiritual organizations across Massachusetts. Specifically I will provide openings for community service as an expression of faith. In the small town of Weston, MA where I grew up, no temple of my Hindu sect existed nearby. Community service—unloading trucks for food pantries, translating and teaching ESL, and brewing chai for charity—became my outlet. Religion without others can feel like being stranded on an island, and I want better for Tufts. If you do too, please help me tip the scales for a free, efficient, and student-built chaplaincy.
