Latinx Community Senator (1 Seat)

Isabela Silvares Lima

As a rising senior who served two years as a Class of 2027 in many capacities, by running for Latinx Senator I wish to take on a new role in representing the Latin community at Tufts. Being from Brazil and knowing many students across all 4 years I wish to see to their needs as international and national Latinx students. I intend to achieve this by connecting them to resources, hosting events, and continuing to connect all Latinx groups on campus.

Julieta grané

Hi everyone! My name is Julieta Grané, and I am running to be the Latinx Community Senator. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and my parents are from Mexico and Argentina. My experiences as a Latinx Center intern and Mexican Culture Club secretary have prepared me to advocate for the Latinx community in this role.

I hope to facilitate communication between the Tufts Latinx Center, the TCU Senate, and the broader Latinx community at Tufts through specific initiatives such as collaborations between the various Latinx cultural clubs.

I believe that there is a real lack of awareness and communication about the resources currently available to our community which could be remedied through transparency and outreach. As the Latinx Senator, I would apply my knowledge of the needs and responsibilities of running a culture club to support all current and future clubs related to Latinx culture. In the current political climate, intentional community organizing is more important than ever; I hope to use this important opportunity to serve and uplift the Latinx community at Tufts.
