Latinx Community Senator (1 Seat)

I am running for Latinx Community Senator because the Latinx community has played a crucial role in helping me find my place at Tufts. The community has given me a space where I feel understood, welcomed, and connected to other people who share experiences similar to my own. Finding that sense of community helped my transition to college, and I want to help recreate that feeling for other Latinx students.

I recognize that being a Latinx student in higher education can come with challenges, from navigating questions of identity and belonging to feeling disconnected from your culture or struggling to find people who understand your experiences. I want to make sure that Latinx students have a space where they can voice these concerns and feel that they are being heard.

As Latinx Community Senator, I hope to advocate for our community while also creating opportunities for students to connect, celebrate our cultures, and build relationships with one another. I want to be someone students can approach, knowing that their experiences and concerns will be taken seriously. Most importantly, I want other Latinx students to find the same sense of belonging that has helped me feel at home at Tufts.
