Committee on Student Life (CSL) (4 Seat)

Giullia Caico

As a candidate for reelection to the TCU Committee on Student Life, I remain committed to upholding the values of Tufts for our entire community. My previous experience in the CSL and continued involvement in our community have equipped me to continue providing a vital student perspective to administration.

I firmly believe that student life policy should reflect the real experiences of students. Throughout the past two semesters, I have worked in collaboration with the TCUJ and Community Standards to ensure student decision appeals and bylaw proposals are heard with care and consideration, as well as with the Chaplaincy to oversee administration of the Wendell Phillips Award.

Building upon this experience, I will continue advocating for solutions that address students’ immediate needs through effective oversight, transparent and fair accountability standards, and stronger, more inclusive communication between students and administration so that every student feels heard and valued. Above all, I will continue to listen, advocate, and act in service of a student life that embodies the best of what Tufts represents.

The CSL works to improve the university experience and promote an environment of inclusivity and collaboration by advocating for students in making policy decisions. The committee acts as a bridge to enhance communication across student organizations and faculty. I hope to use the role of undergraduate student representative to enrich the vibrant and bright community here at Tufts.

I am so excited to run to be a Student Life Representative. I have a lot of experience in the Student Council, and this position seemed like a very good entry to all of the Student Council here at Tufts. I have a lot of thoughts about Student Life and the role that the university should play in regulating and making sure values are upheld. I also like talking to students and helping out my peers. I want to be available to help and meet with students who are working through a case, as a lot of the university standards are confusing and hard to find online.

As a candidate for the TCU Committee on Student Life, I aim to ensure that Tufts' values remain strong. As a First-generation Engineering Student, ROTC cadet, and an active member at the Asian American Center, I will provide an active and diverse student voice to administrators.

By actively listening to what the Tufts community wants, I aim to develop new student life policies and enhance the overall quality of life for students. Whether you’re off or on campus, in the School of Arts and Sciences or the SMFA, I’m confident there’s some way I can improve your student experience. On CSL, I will advocate for you by listening to you and by being accountable to the whole student body. With my unique position as a liaison between the student body and administration, I will provide more ways to connect and bridge the communication gap between the Tufts community and administration. My goal is to make sure all voices at Tufts are heard.

I promise to work hard to ensure my fellow Jumbos feel safe, accountable, and empowered at Tufts. I’m always open to fresh ideas and sharing your ideas with administrators. So let me work with you to create a beacon of light atop the hill!
