TCU Judiciary (TCUJ) (7 Seats)

Nick Dahlen

Candidate did not submit a headshot to ECOM before the deadline.

Hello! My name is Nick Dahlen, and this is my fourth time running for the J. Over the last three years, I have served on the as the J’s Historian, Recognition Chair, and now as Chair of the J. During this time, I have helped to recognize over 60 new student organizations, I have voted in four hearings to resolve disputes within the TCU government, and I have drafted and successfully lobbied for the first ever amendment to the J’s bylaws.

From the beginning, my goal has been to make the J as fair, transparent, and efficient as possible. I believe that this has been a success. Since the last election, we have greatly improved email response time, ensuring a clearer and more accessible experience for anyone interested in founding a new student organization. This semester, we completed a full overview of every student organization on JumboLife in under three weeks, giving us more time to reach out to student leaders and understand their plans and their achievements. Finally, as the number of new student organizations has risen each year, I have fostered close communication between the J and the treasury, helping both branches stay equipped to support new and established organizations alike.

Through my experience, I understand the Tufts Community Union Judiciary inside and out, and believe I am the candidate most prepared to see it through another successful year. With your vote, I will do my utmost to keep Tufts a welcoming and well-run environment for all student organizations, maintaining spaces for the hobbies, careers, and identities of every student who calls our university home.

As the current TCUJ Vice Chair, I am excited to run for re-election to this position. I am deeply passionate bout the recognition and re-recognition processes for student clubs. Over the years, working as a team had been very rewarding, and I look forward to continuing to meet with clubs to support and better understand their roles on campus. Student organizations play an important role in shaping the extracurricular experience at Tufts, something important to both prospective and current students.

Anthony Vitale

I have been a member of the Judiciary since my freshman year, and during that time I have gained a lot of experience on how to best support our students and their organizations.

I am excited about the opportunity to continue building upon this work. While I have made much progress, there is still more to be done. Therefore it is important to me that I can continue with that momentum by advocating for transparency, accessibility, and stronger connections between the TCU and the broader student body.

Asher caplan

To prospective voters and members of the Tufts University family, my name is Asher Caplan and I am running for the TCUJ. I am a first year in the combined degree program with SMFA and am planning to major in Economics. I am passionate about creating communities in which everyone feels as though they have a seat at the table. In my free time I love to lift weights, listen to music, and cheer for the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds).

If elected to be a member of the judiciary branch of the TCU I would make it my goal to ensure that every organization is represented on campus in a manner that is fair and just. The Tufts campus community deserves to have student-led organizations that are passionate and genuine. As a member of the judiciary I would foster an environment in which more students were able to get involved in this community either through starting a club, or getting funding to accomplish the goals of their organization.

Vote Asher Caplan for the TCUJ!

jack fucci

Hello, my name is Jack Fucci and I am running for the TCU Judiciary. I chose to run for the Judiciary because of how passionate I am for what this position has to offer: reading, interpreting, and decision making. I am in awe of TCU’s legal framework and have already familiarized myself with it. I take pride in my ability to make impartial judgments, and I assure you that my personal politics will never interfere with my duties. This is my first time running for student government, and I hope my candidacy will inspire others to start new clubs or revive old ones. The TCU is home to hundreds of amazing student organizations, but there is always room for more. No matter how niche or broad the subject, clubs of all types are essential to promoting unity in our community. The research shows that people participate in clubs less often than in the past, and as a result, we have grown more divided and isolated. People need people, and clubs are the medium that allow for that. I love the mission of this position, and I hope I can earn your support.
